UCC confirms new academic year will commence on September 28

UCC welcomes the clarity that has come with the announcement that the Leaving Certificate results will be released on 7th September.

Commenting, the Deputy President and Registrar of UCC, Professor John O’Halloran stated, “These are unprecedented times that are demanding flexibility and understanding from us all. We understand that Leaving Certificate students were hoping to get their results sooner. But we have a date now and we can provide the further certainty that Round 1 CAO offers will be issued on 11th September.

“UCC’s new term commences on the 28th September and we encourge students to accept their offers as soon as they receive them. We are preparing an exciting programme of Orientation and induction and we are planning some additional supports for first years, including a mentoring programme. The announcement by the Department of Education and Skills gives certainty in these uncertain times, and we are now looking forward to commencing the new term on 28th September.”
