Bandon girl spreads some happiness while raising funds for Pieta House

Bandon native Shannen O’Reilly has started a new campaign in aid of Pieta House where she is encouraging people to upload a picture of themselves in their ‘happy place’. The campaign has already passed its €1000 fundraising target.

To take part, users must simply upload a picture that makes them happy and caption it ‘My happy place’. Users can then choose to donate to Shannen’s campaign.

Pieta house is something very close to Shannen, as like many people across Ireland, she has suffered from a mental health condition in the past and she continues to battle everyday.

“Unfortunately it is at times like this when people’s mental health is really affected and this year The Pieta House ‘Darkness into Light’ walk has had to be postponed due to the virus,” says Sharon.

Last year the walk helped raise over €5 million for the cause, which helped thousands of Irish people avail of the many services from the organisation.

“With your help, I am hoping to raise as much money as I can for the service,” says Shannen.
