What’s hitting beauty shelves this month? – The February edit

CeraVe Hydrating Micellar Water

Meet the newest addition to the CeraVe family – Hydrating Micellar Water. While micellar water is heralded for its makeup removing abilities, some shy away as they can find them drying on the skin, but CeraVe are taking micellar water’s cleansing benefits to a whole new level. Alongside the small, suspended surfactant molecules (‘micelles’) that act as a magnet to attract dirt and oil without the need for harsh scrubbing, CeraVe’s new Micellar Cleansing Water contains a signature blend of essential ceramides and niacinamide to help protect the skin’s natural barrier. Dr Alexis Granite CeraVe consultant dermatologist explains “CeraVe Micellar Cleansing Water is a gentle alternative to more abrasive cleansing methods, which can be detrimental to skin health by disrupting the skin barrier, skin pH and microbiome balance on the skin’s surface which in turn may cause dryness, irritation and skin sensitivity.” Suitable for all skin types, including sensitive, it is ideal for the first step in a double cleansing routine, and it pairs perfectly with the CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser, €11, available now from local pharmacies nationwide, instore, and online.

Amuline Derma Range

Dry and inflamed skin conditions are extremely common and are typically characterised by itchiness, redness and often a rash. Certain forms can first present in infancy and can affect as many as one in five children, with up to 50 per cent of these patients continuing to suffer into adulthood. Symptoms are individual but can vary from mild itchy skin to more painful cracked skin with stinging, redness and swelling. With this in mind, Citrine Healthcare launched the Amuline™ range, which includes four topical products to help the skin’s moisture levels and improve the skin barrier to help alleviate these symptoms. Amuline Lipogel (€19.95) one of the products from the range is a nourishing gel for acute dry skin. Formulated with Emu Oil, an active ingredient containing a combination of omega-3, omega-6 and omega-9 that helps to restore lipid metabolism and skin barrier function, resulting in an effective anti-inflammatory, soothing, and repairing action. Apply morning and evening, or more frequently as needed in severe dry skin conditions. Suitable for people with dermatitis, eczema, psoriasis, and rosacea. The Amuline™ Derma range is available in Irish pharmacies nationwide, from €14.95.

Dermalogica Awaken Peptide Eye Gel

Does your morning start with a pair of puffy eyes? Whether caused by lack of sleep, allergies, ageing or salty food – swollen, tired or puffy eyes can affect anyone. And while there’s a range of reasons you might have swollen under eyes, one thing is for sure – you’re probably tired of looking tired. Energise your eyes with Dermalogica’s new Awaken Peptide Eye Gel, which reduces puffiness and fine lines for a more well-rested look. The lightweight gel hydrates, firms and smooths the delicate skin around our eyes, minimising fine lines and wrinkles while reducing puffiness. A gentle yet effective formula that utilises highly active tetrapeptides, caffeine, soothing rosemary leaf extract to minimise puffiness, dark circles, and fine lines while a bioengineered succinic acid blend keeps eyes looking bright and skin smoother and more luminous – for a revitalised, energised appearance, €65 available online and from selected Dermalogica Stockists nationwide.

Seoulista Blondi Locks

Multi-award-winning beauty brand Seoulista Beauty have added two new haircare treatments to their professional approved range – Seoulista Curly Locks for replenished, defined, and hydrated curls, and Seoulista Blondi Locks to strengthen, condition and illuminate blonde hair. Both masks have a high concentration of multi-dimensional, intensely hydrating hyaluronic acid, which works to repair the hair fibre from deep within – while smaller molecules penetrate deep in the hair shaft to reduce breakage, larger molecules seal in hydration from the surface for visible luminosity and shine. If your blonde locks need a little TLC, Blondi Locks will strengthen, condition, and illuminate blonde hair, while caring for the scalp, all in just 15 minutes. The mask contains Illumoplex™, a unique complex of shine-enhancing actives along with a concentrated blend of antioxidants which work to refresh and illuminate blonde hair. The cap traps heat from the head to help infuse the hydrating ingredients and actives into the hair follicle and because the serum formulation is lighter than other treatments it absorbs in faster helping to revive dull and damaged blonde hair, €12, available online from seoulistabeauty.com and selected pharmacies nationwide.
