Clochán Uisce celebrates the story of the river Feagle in new booklet

The river Feagle was the catalyst for the formation of Clochán Uisce as a river group; and over the passage of time, the Feagle’s journey as a river from source to sea has inspired, educated, and emboldened the group to do all it can to protect the river, advocate for it and share its story with the community and beyond.

There are many ways to know a river and Clochán Uisce uses these many ways to engage with local communities about our local rivers through citizen science, school workshops, river events, social and environmental activism and written word.

Over the past year Clochán Uisce has put together a beautiful booklet about the river Feagle to share its story and inspire a sense of pride and custodianship amongst our communities so that our small but powerful river will be valued for all that it has to offer and be nourished and protected for generations to come.

The booklet  is filled with beautiful artwork from local artists and has fantastic contributions from local historian Con O’Neill, ecologist Ron de Bruin, writer Damien Enright and rivers advocate Li An Phoa from Drinkable Rivers. All of these contributors, along with the fantastic group of Clochán Uisce, with funding from Lawpro and guidance and publication by Streamscapes has allowed the weaving of a community collective into word and illustration of the majesty of the mighty little River Feagle.

Clochán Uisce will launch its river Feagle booklet on Thursday, March 27 at 7.30pm at the Green Dot Cafe in Clonakilty. All are welcome to attend. The booklet showcases all that’s amazing about our local river.

Guest contributors and the Clochán Uisce group will be in attendance and copies of the booklet will be available to the public. Come celebrate the story of the river Feagle.
