Artists collaborate on limited edition vibrant chairs

Chairmaker Alison Ospina’s most recent collaboration sees her teaming up with artist and printmaker Shane O’Driscoll resulting in the production of limited edition traditional chairs combining ‘soft’ organic and hard edge abstract forms.

Alison has been designing and making her graceful chairs and stools, using locally coppiced hazel, since moving to West Cork in 1996. Over 25 years she has developed her own distinct approach to chair design and construction. Her primary inspiration comes from Shaker design. By applying the Shaker principles of simplicity, beauty and utility, she produces graceful, natural wood chairs which combine high quality craftsmanship with durability and elegant designs.

Artist and printmaker Shane O’Driscoll’s creative work features vibrant colour and bold abstract shapes created in the traditional process of silk screen printing as well as modern day digital print.

The resulting pieces unite these two creative’s art forms.
