One of Ireland’s favourite music festivals, The Baltimore Fiddle Fair takes place this year from May 8-11, with musicians from Quebec, Spain, Finland, Scotland, England, USA and from all over Ireland.
The Baltimore Fiddle Fair is one of the most loved and respected festivals in the country, famous for its intimate settings, beautiful surroundings and friendly atmosphere, but primarily for its consistent ability to present a truly world-class line-up of national and international acts. This year’s festival is no exception and features an eclectic programme of incredible artists from Ireland and around the world.

The festival welcomes back some old friends including master Irish fiddler Martin Hayes, the astounding Liz Carroll and Liz Knowles from USA, Donegal legends Altan celebrating 40 years, and powerhouse UK/Irish trio Michael McGoldrick, John McCusker and John Doyle.
Acts making their festival debuts include amazing Irish folk singer Lisa O’Neill, English duo Nick Hart and Tom Moore, brilliant Quebecois trio Genticorum, Belfast singer/songwriter Clare Sands, UK fiddle and banjo duo Jerri Foreman and Ruth Eliza, Spanish/American duo San Miguel Fraser, and sensational young Donegal musicians Megan Ní Fhionnghaile and Cathal Ó Curráín. There’s also the first ever Irish performances by Cork siblings Lisa and Michael O’Sullivan and acclaimed Finnish fiddle band Frigg. The festival kicks off with a very special performance by strings arranger for the likes of Coldplay and U2, John Metcalfe.
These intimate concerts will be held in unique venues across Baltimore, including small churches and cosy marquees, and all in one of the most stunning festival settings on the planet. Baltimore Fiddle Fair will also include a host of additional events including musical boat trips, top class workshops, a documentary film screening, an informative historical walking tour, outdoor musical yoga, a concert for local primary schools and a plethora of great sessions in and around the village.
For many musicians and music lovers, the annual pilgrimage to the Baltimore Fiddle Fair is definitely the highlight of the year and this year’s festival promises to be no exception.
